Amy Orsborn, who will join UW in January 2018 as the Clare Booth Luce Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering, was interviewed by online women’s magazine Bustle.com. In the piece, Dr. Orsborn discusses her work and her perspective on how it’s changing the world. She also offers insight on how failure and a willingness to explore are key factors in success, discovery and a career in STEM.

Dr. Orsborn works at the interface of engineering and neuroscience, and studies motor learning to improve brain-computer interfaces aimed at restoring motor function to people with disabilities such as limb loss, stroke or spinal injury.
