UW Bioengineering Assistant Professor Deok-Ho Kim recently was appointed to the editorial board of the academic journal Theranostics, one of the leading journals in the field of regenerative medicine and therapeutic applications.

Established in 2011, Theranostics publishes innovative and original research articles that investigate issues such as in vitro diagnostics and prognostics, in vivo molecular imaging, molecular therapeutics, image-guided therapy, nanobiosensor and bioelectronics, translational nanomedicine and point-of-care and diagnostic medicine. Theranostics’ quickly established itself as a highly reputable journal; the official impact factor of the journal is 7.806, according to the June 2013 Journal Citation Report (JCR) by Thomson Reuters.

As a member of the journal’s editorial board Dr. Kim will review papers in his area of expertise, including therapeutic biomaterials, regenerative nanomedicine and translational tissue engineering, and suggest other competent reviewers. Additionally, his editorial duties will include previewing and proofreading copies of accepted papers.

Dr. Kim participates in editorial activities for several other journals. He is an associate editor of Biomedical Microdevices, Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology, IEEE Transactions on NanoBioscience, and a member of the editorial boards of Scientific Reports, International Journal of Nanomedicine, IET Nanobiotechnology and Journal of Laboratory Automation.
