UW Bioengineering professor Dr. Joan Sanders is leading efforts to develop a device which continuously monitors the minute-by-minute changes in residual limb volume experienced by amputees. This technology could one day lead to “smarter” prosthetic devices which accommodate the changes in limb volume without swelling or inconvenience.
