Kurt Kung, an electrical engineering PhD student and manager of the Pollack lab, recently won two poster competitions at UW with his poster, “The Novel Renewable Energy Technology – Energy Harvesting from Water”. Kung is the poster’s first author; second author and PI is UW Bioengineering professor Dr. Gerald Pollack.

Kurt won first place at the 2014 Electric Energy Industrial Consortium (EEIC), a poster contest for posters from graduate and undergraduate research and class projects related to electric power and energy. He received a $500 cash award plus a travel award to attend the IEEE Power and Energy Society General meeting in Washington DC.

He also took the grand prize at the 2014 Molecular Engineering and Sciences Research Showcase, receiving a $750 travel award.

Congratulations, Kurt and the Pollack lab!
