Bioengineering student leading outreach activityEducational Outreach

UW Bioengineering is dedicated to engaging future bioengineers through educational outreach, and promoting public awareness of our mission to invent the future of medicine. Our students, faculty and staff visit local K-12 schools, host student visits and participate in large outreach events held by the UW, Pacific Science Center and other organizations.

UW Bioengineering Outreach is committed to diversity and inclusivity. We are especially interested in serving future bioengineers from traditionally underrepresented groups in science and engineering.

Bioengineering Summer Day Camp is a unique, week-long experience for Seattle-area students who will begin 9th or 10th grade after attending the camp. Campers explore solutions to global health problems while learning about the engineering design process and basic principles of biology. Department faculty, staff and students lead campers  in hands-on laboratory experiments and engineering design activities.
