Kassandra Thomson Appointed New Interim Director of the UW Coulter TRP Program

Kassandra Thomson, Ph.D. has been appointed Interim Director of the W. H. Coulter Foundation Translational Research Partnership (TRP) Program. The Coulter TRP program was previously led by Kathie Jordan, PhD, who became the Coulter Program Director at Drexel University beginning in April 2015.

Coulter Program helps launch BioE technologies toward clinical impact (Part 2 of 2)

This May marks the 10th anniversary of the UW’s Coulter Translational Research Partnership in Biomedical Engineering, which has helped propel dozens of UW inventions from the lab toward clinical use. We profile one of Coulter’s recent successes: a platform for growing cardiac cells for drug toxicity testing. Researchers in BioE’s Deok-Ho Kim’s lab developed the technology, which was recently spun out to the start-up NanoSurface Biomedical.

Kathie Jordan promoted to Program Director, Kassandra Thomson appointed Assistant Director, of UW Coulter TRP Program

We are pleased to announce that Kathie Jordan, PhD has been promoted to Director of the UW Wallace H. Coulter Foundation Translational Research Partnership Program. Kathie was appointed as the Interim Director of the UW Coulter TRP Program in December 2013. We are also pleased to welcome Kassandra Thomson, PhD as the new Assistant Director of the UW Coulter TRP Program, appointed in June of 2014.

Wallace H. Coulter Birthday Celebration and Renaming of Foege N130

This event celebrated Wallace H. Coulter’s legacy and medical innovations, and included a symposium to highlight modern research and applications that are direct descendants of the work of Wallace H Coulter as well as renaming the conference room Foege N130 to The Wallace H. Coulter Conference Room.
