Health Innovators Collaborative Seminar
The Boeing ACO: Potential Model for Next Generation Healthcare
Director, Benefits Policy and Strategy
December 2, 2014
Turner Auditorium (D209)
The newly launched Boeing Accountable Care Organization (ACO) is the culmination of a long, thoughtful and intense process. Many observers regard it as a harbinger of the way self insured employers will purchase health benefits in the future and a model to be emulated. Certainly it represents a bold new endeavor for the UW led and Swedish/Providence let coalitions who are the initial provider partners. Greg Marchand, considered to be “an exceptionally sophisticated purchaser” of health benefits was the chief architect of the Boeing ACO. He will describe the goals, structure and metrics of the plan and discuss its possible adoption by other employers.
