Greg Horwitz

  • Spatial and color vision
  • Visual and oculomotor neurophysiology
  • Viral vector-mediated gene delivery
  • Optogenetics

Research in the Horwitz lab focuses on the neural mechanisms of visual perception and visually guided behaviors. A major goal is to create viral vectors that deliver genetically encoded effectors of neural activity to specific cell types and then to use these vectors to reveal the distinct contributions of different cell types to visual computation.
