Our research group is interested in how biomolecules and cells sense and respond to force, and how these mechano-responses contribute to physiology and disease mechanisms. We combine single-molecule fluorescence imaging and force manipulation methods, microfluidics, and stem cell biology to understand the molecular mechanisms governing physiological functions and seek new methodologies for therapeutics testing and treatment of disease. Our current research focuses on mechanosensor proteins related to blood and circulatory system disorders.
