Ayokunle (Ayo) Olanrewaju, assistant professor for UW Bioengineering, has been awarded a Rogel Faculty Support Award. The grant honors an outstanding junior faculty member who has made important contributions to the Department of Bioengineering, the College of Engineering and the University of Washington.
Established in 2002 by Steven and the late Connie Rogel, the purpose of the fund is to enhance the University’s ability to attract, retain, and provide opportunities for professional development for junior faculty in the School of Medicine, College of Engineering, and College of the Environment. The Rogel Foundation recognizes the personal, professional and financial challenges that junior faculty can face.
Steven Rogel was a distinguished graduate of the UW College of Engineering and was chairman, president and CEO of Weyerhaeuser Company.
