Congratulations to Bioengineering Professor Kim Woodrow for receiving the Partners in Safety award from the UW Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) department. The honor recognizes individuals who have made a positive safety impact or contribution in support of labs or research groups. Woodrow is being honored for partnering with EH&S in 2023 to improve safety compliance in Bioengineering labs including organizing a series of events for the department to increase awareness of lab safety issues, resources and tools.
Bioengineering Professor and Chair Princess Imoukhuede wrote about Woodrow’s award, “Under Kim’s leadership, she has helped to accelerate the adoption of safe practices throughout the department. This award both acknowledges Kim’s tremendous leadership in safety across the department and recognizes the significant progress our department has made.”
EH&S is hosting the 2023 Laboratory Safety Awards & Innovations Event to celebrate all of the award winners and the work being done to enhance the culture of safety on UW’s campuses and in UW departments.
