UW Bioengineering Assistant Professor Deok-Ho Kim is a 2013 recipient of the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) Young Investigator Award. To recognize this honor, Dr. Kim received an $10,000 honorarium and full travel support to attend the award ceremony.

The purpose of the award, also called the Korean-American “Rising Star Award”, is to recognize those who demonstrate outstanding early career development and achievement in science and technology fields. Eligible applicants must be KSEA members (or become members at the time of application) in their early careers who earned their Ph.D. degree no longer than 5 calendar years ago at the time of application.
