The 2020 University of Washington Bioengineering Summer Camp, held July 6-10 in Seattle, features hands-on activities for high school students who want to explore careers in bioengineering.
The UW Bioengineering Summer Camp will introduce students to how engineers can help people and design technologies for healthcare. This camp will broadly present bioengineering as a career and a major at UW. Daily activities will use hands-on activities to explore topics such as:
- Engineering toys for kids with disabilities
- Prototyping & 3D printing
- Targeted delivery of drugs within the body
- Creation of medical tests & DNA detection
- Scientific communication
The camp is open to rising freshmen through senior students.
The camp will be held on the UW Seattle campus July 6-10, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. The cost is $825. The camp is free to students on the free/reduced lunch program, and additional scholarships are available for underrepresented minority students.
