My current work focuses on achieving meaningful outcomes in cetacean conservation and developing educational programs that help students become technically proficient critical thinkers, who are also thoughtful members of their professional bioengineering and broader community.

We work to develop and apply biomaterials solutions for the mitigation of infection, promotion of stable wound resolution, and improvement of device design for human and marine applications, while giving diverse undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to gain significant research and design experience.
